My approach is collaborative, rooted in empathy and inclusivity, and built on reliability and confidentiality. I aim to offer a safe, warm and non-judgmental setting where you can explore and embrace all parts of yourself. Together we'll look at how earlier experiences continue to shape the present, and notice patterns that recur in your relationships, at home and at work. Making sense of why we feel and behave as we do is often the first step towards change, and it helps us make more informed decisions as we grow into our true selves.
I welcome all people at all stages of personal growth to come exactly as you are and receive support. Our work together is exploratory. We can build a place together where you can slow down, speak freely, and begin to make sense of things.
Whatever difficulties you are facing, it can be helpful to have someone to talk to outside your daily life. I believe passionately that people can grow and change, no matter how difficult their situation may seem. However, you don't have to be on the verge of crisis to have therapy. Therapy can help people find new ways of being with their emotions.
My training at the Guild of Psychotherapists introduced me to a broad range of theoretical perspectives and therapeutic approaches. Through lectures, seminars, workshops and independent reading, I was encouraged to engage with different ways of understanding human experience. This has informed my own thinking and allows me to approach the work with curiosity, openness and an appreciation of the complexity of each person's experience.
People I work with often bring difficulties such as:
Low mood or depression
Anxiety
Childhood trauma
Relationship difficulties or recurring relational patterns and identity issues; relationships, emotional life
Life transitions - feeling stuck. Disconnected or uncertain about direction
Feeling numb, empty or dissatisfied
Healing and recovery
Personal growth
Self-harm and suicidal thoughts
Self understanding
I am an active advocate of healing and encourage my patients to take a healthy stance towards themselves, which requires an honest and open exploration of underlying emotions that often get dismissed and ignored, resulting in high anxiety, depression and other damaging behaviour.
I work weekly in 50-minute in-person sessions in my therapy room, and I also offer online sessions for people who prefer to work remotely or can't attend in-person sessions. Many choose a combination of in-person and online sessions depending on circumstances.
