About Me
About Me
I hold an MA in Music Therapy, trained at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and completed Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training at The Guild of Psychotherapists.
Inadvertently arriving on a placement for children with learning disabilities at around 15 years old considerably changed my life in the long run. That summer, I knew I was drawn to Music Therapy and talking therapies. I've had the privilege of supporting people and learning through many roles over the years, including singing with older people with dementia, volunteering as a counsellor for Survivors Network, and working with children with cerebral palsy and adults at Millview Psychiatric Hospital.
After studying Jazz at university, I later completed an MA in Music Therapy, following music-for-well-being work with babies and young children in hospitals. After qualifying, I worked for five years for CAMHS within the NHS, providing therapy for young people affected by COVID-related difficulties, including urges to self-harm and suicidal ideation. During this time, I began Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training at The Guild of Psychotherapists.
This is how I came to Tanya Perry Therapy, and I currently work both online and in my therapy room in West Chiltington.
